As a small child, I enjoyed visiting my father’s village,
Tremeşe in Cyprus, where most of the houses had small
but colourful doors. The surrounding always looked yellow
due to the dry straw piled everywhere as well as yellowish
‘kerpiç’ walls made from straw mixed with mud. This painting
looks at a door from very far away since reality is blurred
as are my childhood memories.
